As we head into the latter half of the year, it’s the ideal time to take a look at the great Bloomsbury Professional Ireland titles that have come out so far in 2019.
We kicked off the year, as usual with our tax annuals. Along with our well-established titles: Irish Income Tax, Feeney: The Taxation of Companies, and Capital Tax Acts, this year sees a new title, Irish Capital Gains Tax 2019 by Tom Maguire, join our list. All of these titles are recognised as authoritative texts in their areas, delivering detailed and up-to-date information, making them indispensable in practice. At the moment all four of these titles are on sale. Juse use our discount code 2019TAX at checkout to get 20% (excluding packing and postage) until August 31st.

It’s been a strong year for our criminal law releases with three great titles out already this year. We’ve published two brand new titles, Eoin O’Connor’s National Security Law in Ireland, and Alice Harrison’s The Special Criminal Court: Practice and Procedure. Recently we’ve also released a new edition of the highly regarded Criminal Legislation in Ireland by Lynn O’Sullivan. There’s still more to come later this year in criminal law, as Guide to Expert Witness Evidence, and The Law of Evidence in Ireland are set for release in the coming months.

Along with our annual edition of the Arthur Cox Employment Law Yearbook, we’ve also had a number of new editions in the area of company law. The newly released 2nd edition of Irish Company Secretary's Handbook has been updated to reflect the implementation of GDPR, Criminal Justice legislation and the Companies Act 2014. Similarly, Companies Act 2014: 2018 Edition has been updated to provide a fully-consolidated edition that incorporates all changes to the Act. The highly-regarded Twomey on Partnership Law also saw its second edition this year, with many key cases and legislative changes reflected and a new chapter on LLPs added to this comprehensive work.

Our final two books to be mentioned in this round-up both address an area of law that has seen great changes and rapid development in recent years. In the area of family law, Divorce and Judicial Separation Proceedings in the Circuit Court by Keith Walsh is a new title which provides a guide to the Circuit Court Rules (Family Law) 2017 and the consolidation of Order 59. Media law also continues to one of the most dynamic and rapidly changing legal areas. Our new edition of Media Law in Ireland by Eoin Carolan, Ailbhe O'Neill gives an accessible overview of this formidably complex area.
