Irish Property Law Update - Issue 91

Issue 91 of Professor John Wylie's Irish Property Law Update is now live for our online subscribers. This update contains expert analysis on a wide range of issues affecting conveyancing practitioners in Ireland, from the drafting and construction of deeds through to the position of parties under mortgages.

In a rather timely section on the recovery of rent, Professor Wylie notes:

'In Coyle v Coughlan [2019] IEHC 506, where tenants had remained in occupation, without paying rent, following service of a forfeiture notice (in respect of which they had not claimed relief), Allen J awarded the landlords a sum based on €2,166.67 per month for ‘use and occupation’. See also, para 12.14.'
